Winsom Winsom was born in Jamaica and studied at the Jamaica School of Art from 1965-1968. She immigrated to Canada in the 1970s. She is a multi-media artist who works in textiles, painting, video, installations, and puppetry. Her work explores human spirituality. Winsom believes that the spiritual and earthly experiences are deeply connected. She has exhibited widely since the mid-1980s. Her installation, "Winsom: I Rise," was mounted at the Art Gallery of Ontario in 2019.
